With refractive surgery, problems of myopia, astigmatism and hyperopia are corrected.

We must have a complete ophthalmological examination and a corneal topography -corneal study-, necessary exams to determine if you are a candidate for surgery. Please request your appointment at the 20/20 Clinic.

This surgery is recommended for patients with stable refraction, usually after 18 years of age.

If you use contact lenses, you should stop using them before the assessment: minimum 3 days for soft lenses and 8 days for hard lenses.

You can schedule your surgery as soon as you receive the results of the assessment. In the 20/20 CLINIC the surgeries are performed on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Once the evaluation exams are done and you define the date for the surgery, you must appear at the Clinic at the indicated time and wear comfortable clothes, easy to fasten and unbutton; and in the case of women, do not wear makeup.

After the surgery, the doctor will place transparent plastic protectors on your eyes through which you can see without any problem, you can also lift them to apply the drops that the doctor recommends. These protectors will be removed the day after the procedure.

Most patients can return to work 48 hours after surgery.

The sensation of tearing and foreign body in the operated eye is normal. These discomforts may last 4 to 6 hours after surgery.
